Groundbreaking! Please spread the word about our ground breaking. It will be October 22. The "official" ground breaking will be between 10 and 10:30. We're doing the bbqing and if you want to participate, bring a dish and your choice of beverages! We'll have some tables and chairs, but always good to bring your own.
Everyone feel free to bring your car (the crops will be out) and any old slicks that you need to get rid of. We'll use them for the track.
We'll also be having a bonfire and hayride later on in the evening so come on out anytime!
There will be some state and county reps as well as media coming so this is going to be a big event. Come out and celebrate with us!
We want this to be a fun, laid back day of celebrating!

My plan is to head out there after work, it'll be in the mid-afternoon, but sounds like things will still be happening!

Many of the Mopar guys won't be able to make it. We are having our annual fall poker run that day. Originally Kayse's son Kris was supposed to have Special Olympics bowling in Saint Peters on Saturday, they switched it to Sunday. I'm skipping the poker run, so I can be at the ground breaking ceremony. There will be more club poker runs in the future, but only one ground breaking ceremony for MAR Park! I'm planning on doing fall cruise on Sunday with another group of Mopar guys (going to Herman, MO). |

Mr. Hollywood , we welcome all drag racers and surporters to the ground breaking and we'll be seeing you this spring. The competition should be fierce so good luck getting that check. I'm not sure why they call it a poker run, it's more like a pub crawl. Since I'm not interested in drinking and driving I'm not really interested in doing it.  I don't need to be drunk to enjoy driving my car. TODAY! TODAY! Groundbreaking is today, I've heard there will be media coverage, and some fun stuff going on in addition to the ceremonial things! Of course I'm at work now, but will try to buzz out there after I get off.

So you stereo type poker runs or just this one ? Everyone has to make their own decisions some right, some wrong . I often wondered when a police officer or Fireman gets hurt and they have a benefit at a watering hole ,do you think anyone drinks and gets behind the wheel ? Does a charity benefit at some big gala not offer cocktails ? I hope I can get that :oKEG of beer in the trunk of the mopar today. Hope to still make the ceremony this evening . Enjoy your Sunday |

i'm with rich on this one, poker runs at best are a diluted way of just plain 'bar hopping',
dr you are correct everyone has to make the decision to drink and drive , but when you're decision making process is made after couple 'beers'' , that decision has been made wrong way to many times , and the loss of life has been a great impact on allot of families.
so to justify a 'poker run' because it benifits some need , is wrong too, those ends never justify the outcome good or bad,
drinking driving and then promoting thru a poker run is totally WRONG!
as for groundbreaking, i hope to make it there , or i will go to Cole County, ??
