Hey everyone, I don't know if you guys remember me but I'm Carolyn, used to write for montgomeryandme.com (which no longer exists) and reported on MARPARK. My uncle has owned a car show (not around here) for 42 years. I don't want to put the name of it out here and have it show up in search engines. His car show is held INDOORS (not just under tents but actually indoors). We have an auction, a vendors section (lots of car related things but also lots of misc vendors), a small food court, and a "car corral" where people who are selling their cars but don't want to put them across the block can buy a space. It's a pretty big show... between the car corral and auction the last one had 800+ vehicles.
My uncle has asked me to help him with the website and social media, and to hopefully bring a bigger audience. So if you guys would take a few minutes to answer the following questions, and add anything else you feel is pertinent, I would be REALLY appreciative! Thank you!
Carolyn
1. What do you most look forward to at a car show and auction? What would you be disappointed to not find? What is a "must" to be there that you won't go if they don't have it?
2. What is the furthest you would drive to go to a major car show and auction? A hour? Four? Ten hours and make a weekend of it?
3. What types of things would entice you to drive a little further to attend a car show and auction?
4. Would you be more inclined to drive further if you had coupons/discounts for hotels?
5. What do you think is a fair price for a ticket to a major car show and auction? Would you be more inclined to buy a 3-day combo ticket and attend all three days if it was cheaper per day, or would one day attendance be enough?
6. What types of content would you want to see on social media such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram? Just show-related info such as galleries of cars that will be on the auction block? Joke type graphics/humor such as the pics below?
7. What kind of info would you want to see on the show's website? Obviously the inventory and info needed for vendors, bidders, and sellers. Would you be more likely to attend (or drive further) if a list of the vendors/exhibitors was available?
8. If the show's website had a blog, what type of topics would you want it to cover?
9. If the show was say 2 hours further away than you wanted to drive for a show, but you won a pair of tickets in a contest, would that change your mind? Would you be more likely to attend if you received an email coupon code for half off an unlimited number of tickets?
Any other thoughts you have would be GREATLY appreciated!
Thank you!
