We are on the verge of starting construction. This first post is mostly a copy/paste from what posted in the Lawsuit topic, but as the construction progresses I will post that here. I only live about 10 minutes from the site and my husband farms right there, so I am free to go up there as much as I want.  On Thurs., Feb. 16 Ronnie gave me a tour of some of the track equipment MARP has bought so far. Since I know absolutely nothing about drag racing (hey, I'm a writer, not a race fan... when the track is built this will change I bet!) I video taped Ronnie and let him do all the talking. Ronnie also told me that at the site there is: the scale, track drag, spectator crowd control fence, and conduits. I haven't had a chance to get pics of that stuff yet, but I imagine y'all know what it is anyway. I also took still photos of the equipment he showed me, and I also have pictures of the KCIR auction that Jordan Stahlschmidt took for me. Ronnie wrote about the auction in this thread marpark.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=talk&action=display&thread=403. Just curious... If this is supposed to be a top shelf track, Gonna have an NHRA event and blah blah blah.... WHY are you buying used equipment?  Almost every time I raced KCIR one of the boards would not work. Is this how you guys wanna get started? So go ahead a throw your " If you dont like it get out " comments my way like you do everyone else who ask a legit question |

Wolsnf, I race at KCIR and never seen or herd of anything like that. Lets here from the KCIR regulars about this issue. We also will have our system service on a regular basis. Thank you for your concerns Ronnie

Wolsnf,Tell you what if you've got a bunch of cash just laying around DONATE it to us! and We'll get all new equip.and put your name on them stating you paid for them!A race surface is more important than new equip.That is if you want a place to race! All the equip we bought is all being serviced,or rebuilt and any problems we come across is being taken care of. And as far as problems with the scoreboards I haven't heard of any any time I was there!We didn't buy them anyway.The old boards were a problem That's why they were replaced!

I raced KCIR all the time and never ran into a tree or timing problem. They sometimes had problems getting your time slips printed but thats about it. Had circuit board burn up once but got that fixed.

if you think about a nhra event they bring there equment and as for mar the old one no score boards just win lights butt all in all we just want a track right now

He wasn't being a dick...just an honest answer......if u can save some money in certain areas and spent more in other areas it makes sense ......how many race cars u see in primer or cheap paint cuz they spent most of their money on making power and hooking up that power.....

We are going to have NHRA events at MAR Park. However, we're not having them tomorrow. Why not save a few bucks this season and get the track built so we can race now! If you ask me that is just smart business. Buy used, then when the track is bringing in revenue, buy the latest and greatest! I'm sure 99% of racers could care less if the timing equipment is brand spankin' new, as long as they can race. BTW, just because something is brand new, doesn't make it work better. So yeah, this IS how we want to get started!
