Dear Ms. 06stang - I believe that the heading for this section of the forum is "New early news about the state of the track", so this is where I check for "news". Now that I know that MontgomeryAndMe is your official news source/cheerleader, I will check there for future late breaking news.
It appears the track may be heading down the same path as it did in Eolia, which is unfortunate!
Sincerely, Chance

The status of teh track is so much further along the it ever was in Eolia. With that being said this is merely a slight delay. I really dont see this holding up.

Thanks Chance! Montgomery And Me has been reporting on the track through the whole process and since we can't update as quickly as you would like, we think that is a great alternative to receive your updates!

I cant believe how many people b@tch on this site. None of you know what it takes to do a project like this. They close operating tracks because they moved next to them. Of course people don't want it next to them if they were there first. It wil get done just another hurdle. Most of you that complain I could not identify your cars. You don't race on a regular bases. I make 150-200 passes a year. Not 2011 Next year I'll be out hopefully both tracks. Rome was not built in a day. Thanks Kevin Prior

Chance - I *am* personally in support of the track; however I have made every effort to not let that color my coverage and I respectfully request that you do not refer to me as a "cheerleader." I previously wrote an article specifically about the people who were against the track montgomeryandme.com/?q=content/selected-public-comments-opposed-proposed-drag-strip-pz-hearing-wednesday-night to ensure that I was covering all sides. The history of every article I have written is at montgomeryandme.com/?q=mid-america-raceway-park-archive. My goal has always been to present the whole truth regardless of my personal feelings. Should you ever feel that I am being unbiased, do please email me so that I may look more closely at my words and adjust if necessary. Sarah, Ronnie, Steve, (and if I forget Jordan he'll be sad so him too, haha) and everyone else involved on that level, I understand that you guys have busy lives with other jobs than to provide constant updates on the web and I am quite happy to do my job as a reporter by providing complete coverage on the track, and I very much enjoy "scooping" everyone else when possible by getting my information out there first. The whole point of internet news sites are to be as close to real-time as they can be. Though I'm a bit jealous of a certain poster here and on another site who apparently has a source closer than I do! Hey little bird, you can easily get my email address! Not to mention that the tremendous interest in the subject has really helped me along a LOT as I just took this job in early September! : )

06Stang- some people just like to be updated on the progress. Is it such a bad thing to ask for a little news once a week. Doesn't have to be much but a little note From Ronnie or any of the gang close would be appreciated. I don't think that is to much to ask. Ronnie isnt the only one that has money involved in all of this, a lot of people have cars that we would love to run there. I understand that they are very busy, A lot of us put a lot of hours. I myself usually put in 60 hr plus weeks also. What I get tired of is hearing all of the rumors around this area. Ronnie could put a lot of those to rest if part of the track personnel would do regular updates. One of the administrators of this site could easily set a thread up to were only Ronnie or others affiliated with the track to post. I think it would make a lot of the people on here very happy to see a little update once a week. Doesnt have to be much. Like with the lawsuit. It nothing has changed, Just write something along the line like, Nothing has changed in the suit. We are still fighting. If he is on here every night it would take a hole minute to write an update.
Bracketracing- Some people cant afford to haul their cars 100 plus miles every weekend. I myself cant. I would love to race every weekend. You cant hold it against anybody because you dont know their car or see them at the track on a regular basis. Plus this is my first year racing so you dont know me and I dont know you. I would love to be a part of the racing family. But even with it 16 miles from my house I still wont be there every weekend. My pocket cant afford it.

My point was not that you have to race every week. The point is most of the people complaining do not have a clue. They might build a car or finish a car if the track is built. Did I put things on hold this year yes. I cant go every week 300 miles either. I am rebuilding my car again. Hope to race next year as much as possible. I'm not complaining if the new track is built it's only 26 miles from home. Thats where I'll go if its run well, which I believe it will be.

I hope it gets done. The only thing that worries me is that the lawyers can draw this out for a long time and cost a lot of money. I hope it all works out in the end. I bought this car hoping that it would open here. If not Ill just have to race else wear just like everybody else. But time will tell.
On another note. Not saying he doesnt but if there was a little more transparency there may be more funding out there. Just a thought.

We appreciate everyone's interest, but again all I can ask is that people are patient. My dad is extremely busy and in his off time we're working on other aspects of the track. I'm not sure how well you know my dad, but he is not exactly the quickest typer! An update every day is just about impossible with him since he would be up all night pecking at the keyboard. So the official update: We got the news about the track. They surveyor has surveyed the boundaries and are scheduled to return on Wed. However, with this new development we must decide what our next step is. As mentioned before, this is just another bump in the road that we have every intention of racing this spring.

What people are going to have to understand is that if we havent posted anything in a few days there really isnt anything new to report. When we get past a couple more of these hurdles, we will try and be more active about posting, but some times there just really isnt much new and as Sarah mentioned, Ronnie isnt the fastest typist so we wait till there is something worthwhile to report. For now everyone stay calm, this shouldnt be a big problem.

We all need to stay positive , and above all support this adventure with as much heart as possible. This does effect all of us , whether we agree or disagree with one another. drag strips every where are under attack by this same disease, us racers need to be vigilant and supportive for all our tracks, for some of us yes it's a hobby, for allot of us it's out hertiage, and it is very much a big part of our everyday life!

Im just thankfull that Ronnie has been trying to get this thing going. If the complainers think they can do it better than Ronnie, then maybe they should build a racetrack. Ill patiently wait till all the BS that comes with a new project is done, then we can look forward to seeing construction start. But these few property owners are going to fight it all the way, everyone should know that. And hopefully Ronnie wil be able to beat this so he can go forward with his racetrack. Thank you Ronnie and all involved with making this happen

I really cant see that lawsuit doing anything....all of the correct procedures were followed and the p&z and county commisioners all have the right to decide what is the best for the county. It just boggles the mind the arrogance of those a-holes that think that they have the right to determine how the county should be ran and they dont even live in the county. Do any of us have the right to tell California how they should run there area? What is the difference? They dont live there and the county made its decision and the last time I checked they were the elected officials in charge of making this type of decision. This should really be pissing people off that these idiots are trying this!

Maybe we should find their home addresses and make sure they are in 100% compliance with the regulations for where they live!
