Gassers are great. I'm tacking a different direction. I've started a 64 Falcon A/FX. It goes to the chassis shop in Jan. The rear wheels are being moved 10" forward and the front straight axle will be moved 8". I'm using Hubert Plattes Iowa Shaker as a model. This will be a street/ strip ride. Troy will never be the same. Just remember if you think nobody cares if your alive, try missing a couple of car payments.

I'm Tim.
I race mostly at Gateway, but will get down to Benton, Ill. I currently bracket race my '85 Monte Carlo SS that I bought new (1st new car when I was 23), and dated in it with my then-future wife ...I have antique tags on it now -- that makes me feel old! I drive it occasionally drive it on the street with the new drivetrain in it...just ran a 12.506 pass @ 109.81 mph. We also have a 10.20/129 Vega Wagon in storage...kid #2 four years ago has halted any plans to race it in the near future...talk about feeling old (48 with a 4-year-old!)
Looking forward to coming to the new MAR...never raced at the old track, but attended 2-3 events a year the last five years of its existence.
Tim

Just joined Vince Tosto (Tostoracing) my sons are Tim and Todd. I have been envolved with the old MAR for many, many years. Myself and my wife (Debbie) worked there while Jerry Bickel was building a Pro Stock Pontiac Grand Prix for me. Now owned by Darrel Sutton. My wife worked in the tower, I teched cars in and was the starter. Spent alot of hours working at the track. Tex was the manager at that time and Big Bob was the announcer. I have known Mike and the Vehige faminly for many years. Me and my sons raced there for many years too. Back then I had a 1972 5 speed Camaro. We are the stick guys. All of our race cars are 4 speeds. Glad to be on the forum and if I can help with anything just let me know.

Thanks for the comments guys! Now that I have built a tennis ball, I think I can get started on my dream car which is a gasser also. Thanks to talking with Wayne Arteaga about 20 years ago!

well thanks hemiman. it'd be great to have a track so close to home again. my favorite event at mar was the nostaglia drags, and always got there early to park next to the burnout pits, something about raw horsepower......
