No comment about NHRA, but if you check the NHRA schedule for 2011 there is no St. Louis stop...hopefully in a few years there will be a MARP stop

hello everyone i m very saddened over gateway deal but the deal was sealed when it was built we all knew but thought all would be well in due time gateway track is one the best around management has always i mean always been bad that goes from top to bottom corp is so far removed as with all' corp' run companies i have a new car that i hope i dont have to drive 4 hours to get to a 1/4 mile track so i' m really pullin that this new track does come to a reality wether it has a garantied purse or not doesnt matter so lets see how this track comes to be

The Gateway deal reeks of corporate greed. IMO....the only way for the track to exist in the future is for the state of IL to seize it for money owed and sell it for what is owed. Even then it would be a hard way to go for new owners.

It seems more like Dover is getting out of the racing side of the business. They tried selling Memphis. Now Gateway. Racing is a small part of their overall company. Would you keep a part of your business that loses money every year?

Yes the taxes are (were) very high on Gateway. It was valued at 8-10 million. I don't remember the exact number. When they dropped Nascar and didn't renew with NHRA, the value dropped to about 1 mil. They went to meetings to get the taxes lowered to reflect the changes.
