This will be the third group associated with buying the facility. Of course with Dover Downs completely out of the picture, and the 4 current landowners on the hook for the taxes on the whole facility, maybe they got real reasonable on costs, and maybe Illinois and St. Clair county has refigured the taxes on the property. Guess we'll find out soon!

slingshot' , the county has refigured the taxes , the final stage will be who pays most of last years taxes and final paperwork just as you would on a home ,
love to see it open in 60 days or sooner, but thats a stretch ,, equipment , crew, repaires from storms, etc,

my fingers are cross twice,its a dragstrip allready there and built,will be going to cid this weekend for sat and sun racing,its racing and its bracket racing,just more seat time till a track opens

yea didnt see no press release did see somewhere they want to get the employees back by july 25,so not much info,but looking for the new/old swamp to reopen and running the 1/4 again,have nothing wrong with 1/8 but gateway is 20 miles from my home

I wish someone could give a straight answer!! I hate FN rumors Can you Imagine the car count If they were to announce mar park or gateway opening in two weeks. There would be some happy people in the racing community

It won't happen on two weeks. They have to buy all the support equipment, the timing equipment, replace wiring and copper plumbing that was....ahh removed......, what I heard was an end of August opening date....if the rumored buy was correct.
