yea seen one shot that a header got under a funnycar and lifted it,im sure they will come up with something on this or nhra will have a rule for it,didnt see it on top fuel, with the cost of parts, you know teams try to save a buck when the can, most of there concern is get it to a to b in one piece and the win

Heard that Gateway is on the 2012 NHRA National event schedule. The pros have already been told to make their room reservations for 2012..

I sent an email to the editor of competition plus magazine and asked about this....he responded back that yes, that rumor was circulating, but no deal had been struck, and he thoughts the odds of the purchase was low by them.......

Don Schumacher and Johnny Gray are both really sharp business men who made scads of bucks outside of racing and are doing this for love of racing and to make a buck or two. They are not going to put their money into a poorly executed dog like GIR unless the govt almost gives their tax position away in order to get the track open and I don't see that happening either.Really sharp business people don't invest in iffy projects.

Went by there today. Nobody around. It looks like a ghost town. The grass / weeds look waist high. The pits and staging lanes have weeds growing up through the cracks.

if a tax sale would sell it wouldnt it be cheaper,im sure a local invester or racer would pick that up,i need a bank to lend me the money or a investor to let me run it

i believe the taxes on commercial property have to be paid by aug/sept? intresting to see if something comes out before the actual deadline for the taxes,, intresting is only a few actual co has sought to purchase the track, if it was just the strip and not a circle track combo, the dragstrip would sell !

maybee tri-city speedway might want the circle track, and run ashplht races, and sell the dragstrip alone, but you have to get to the owners of all that land,if the owners dont sell and if it gets sold for the taxes, you think the owners would sell before then insteed of taking a big loss

I ain't sayin it's so but in this world of backassward twisted deals it's possible that the landowners are current on their property taxes and the only taxes in arrears are on the leasehold improvements which may be one of the reasons no one want's to mess with that critter over there. That surely is a terrible waste of assets going to the crapper there.
