MID AMERICA RACEWAY PARK need's everyone to attend the planning & zoning meeting at Montgomery city may 17th at 7:00 pm to show your support for the track. There will be a support gathering at Bethel's restaurant at 5:00 pm and I will have the track layout, property location to show everyone and to answer questions. Ive gotta ask just because if the land has already been bought then why is there going to be a planning/commision meeting? What if the planning and zoning committee doesnt want it and then you'll be stuck with the land? Confused but that is normal for me! LOL!

Nobody said that the land had been "bought", there is an "agreement" on the land. Not technically the same thing. You will just have to trust us that things like that have been planned for. That being said, it is very important that we have everyones support at the meeting and then things will progress very quickly from there. Sorry, but you will just have to trust us, there are still some things that cant be announced yet, but it is all coming soon!! |

"bought", Are the residents of Montgomery getting involved as with Eolia on this website for their opinions ? Clarify for me is this proposed site the old site of the Montgomery circle track ? If it was, why was it closed . It was a new facility centrally located for the circle racers ? What makes this proposed site better, different than Eolia site ? I don't understand if their is a meeting May 17 ,why isn't their a meeting place in place by Mongomery City to attend and for all to attend residents and those for and against . If we come to the meeting ,maybe a free tech card entry into the race would be nice to show your support also .I have 2 Tshirts already and 2 bumper stickers also. Thank you Good luck . |

First of all, i dont think that I "jumped" on anybody. I did correct what he said. You have to understand at this point, because of what happened, we are and have been choosing our words very carefully. There is a difference. The site is not the actual site where the Montgomery Co Speedway was, but it is very close to there. So far, everyone around this proposed site, has been very positive and is helping to get the facility moved there. Imagine that, they WANT it there! This meeting at the planning and zoning is a step in that process and we cant just bypass it. There may be some people at the meeting that are opposed to it, that is why it is important that we have our supporters there. As for why, the circle track closed, I dont know all the reasons. It wasnt because the area wanted it shut down if that is what anyone thinks, in fact, from what I have heard there is at least a possibility it will reopen, but who knows. What makes this site better: There are many reasons, first it is located right off I-70 and will pull racers from all of central missouri, there is actually a larger site, and no pesky neighbors like the last site. We thank you and many others for your support in purchasing T-shirts and bumper stickers, and we are working to make this facility a reality. We know things havent happened as fast as everyone wanted, but things like this take time. Believe me, we are all very anxious as well. |

very very happy that this track is becoming reality, and progress is moving as espected!!
keep up the great work ,
we all need to support this and come out in numbers for this project!

I think our friend mouthracer chose himself a very fitting screen name.I understand the shortage of information the past few months, as personal feelings were getting very tense around Christmastime this past year. The info is nice but these folks owe most of us nothing either before or after the meeting. The meeting is for the county to gauge support for or against the proposal and if you would like to support a track show up be counted. I imagine the p&z meeting area is a smaller venue and if a larger group of supports is showing up I imagine the govt. folks would like to set up a larger venue in advance as to avoid the crying and bitching that will surely follow if not enough space is provided for.(they probably have visited this site before!) Thanks to the people working so hard at this, a closer by decent track is all the incentive I need to be at the meeting. Gene
