Ive gotta ask just because if the land has already been bought then why is there going to be a planning/commision meeting? What if the planning and zoning committee doesnt want it and then you'll be stuck with the land? Confused but that is normal for me! LOL! Nobody said that the land had been "bought", there is an "agreement" on the land. Not technically the same thing. You will just have to trust us that things like that have been planned for. That being said, it is very important that we have everyones support at the meeting and then things will progress very quickly from there. Sorry, but you will just have to trust us, there are still some things that cant be announced yet, but it is all coming soon!! My bad! I guess when I read the www.arearides.com report it said that and I quote" Mid America Raceway will be built within the Montgomery Speedway Complex. It will be official the morning of Sunday, April 17, 2011 as the plans will be submitted to Planning and Zoning. end quote. I just read into that as the land was an officially done deal. Thanks for clarifying that and YES, I do plan on making the meeting. Keep up the work!

I think our friend mouthracer chose himself a very fitting screen name.I understand the shortage of information the past few months, as personal feelings were getting very tense around Christmastime this past year. The info is nice but these folks owe most of us nothing either before or after the meeting. The meeting is for the county to gauge support for or against the proposal and if you would like to support a track show up be counted. I imagine the p&z meeting area is a smaller venue and if a larger group of supports is showing up I imagine the govt. folks would like to set up a larger venue in advance as to avoid the crying and bitching that will surely follow if not enough space is provided for.(they probably have visited this site before!) Thanks to the people working so hard at this, a closer by decent track is all the incentive I need to be at the meeting. Gene thank you GDOG I think . I was very active in Oct ,Nov,Dec on this site and attended the Eolia meeting walked on the Eolia ground and car show .So most my enthusiaum and upbeat tempo here was as high as anyone. I got so pissed off I canceled my original screen name from Oct and took a short break . But I know way too many friends and others in the racing world to keep my mouth shut .I just want the facts so all stories are creditable . MOUTHRACER

In any business transaction all parties need an out just in case something unforseen happens. My contacts tell me the city and county are receptive to the proposal. But and there are always buts in any proposition the majors in this have to have their own butts covered in case of something unforseen occuring. A couple of hundred acres with no p&z approval would do these fellers no good and possibly tremendous financial harm to them therefore an agreement instead of outright purchase contract meets their personal needs as it would yours.Folks need to put themselves in the other man's sandals and realize that no one financially involved in this project has such deep pockets that they could afford to own that much property with no income stream from it.I know what some of these folks are putting into this project and it is a huge risk to their futures so the belief must be deep. Wish them luck in their endevor. Gene

Believe me there has been a lot of work going on all along. This property was located back in November, and has taken this long to get all the details worked out. Those working on it have been frustrated a few times as well with the problems that have come up, but have had no choice but to keep working them out. It is nice to see things really coming together at this point. We have tried very hard to make sure that the facts and only the facts have been posted on here for quite awhile. We have had to wait when we wanted to post things in the past until it was finalized. That was the case at Christmas as well, when it became obvious that it was going to be a little while till the deal was finalized. The last thing that we wanted was to piss people off and cause them to doubt that this was going to happen.

I understand what you mean, unfortunately even that was a case where the guy was told what to post and he didnt state things exactly how it was supposed to be. The reason that release wasnt posted on here has to do with some legal issues, that are still in progress. There is a completed land deal, but there are plans in place in the event that the p&z deal would have problems, but we hope and think that there should be no problems.

My understanding is there is not much opposition to this project and that most area residents are very receptive to your project and certainly receptive to the additional income and revenue it will provide. Gene

Plain and simple.... If you want to help out and you support MARP, then attend the P/Z meeting.. I dont see there being a problem with it but the more support there the better.

Everybody rememeber, once the dirt starts moving, real work needs to be done, and I'm sure all the help that can be provided will be greatly appreaciated! Ronnie has a good business plan, very aggresive one at that, so if you can provide a needed service or even just add a strong back, make the offer.

It made for an interesting night at work, across the tarmac from the terminal. We lost power for a bit, then had the sound of the rain, hail, and debris hitting the roof, and the tank line alarms and the Nomonox alarms.
