Yeah, You got to remember that CURTISS was a Road Course and Roundy Round Racer. He will make more money off NASCAR Probably is why he is spending the Money there.

Hey CROSSBONESDENNIS what will that Roadster do in 330 ft. It should be pretty fast, 60ft somewhere in the 1.15-1.20 or faster??? Just curious. I was Dead Serious about trying to find a place that we could do these short races. I think it would be fun with the Fast Cars to see some really Tough Ones Heads Up. LOL, More like 1.30's and 4.0's. It's a mild 468 8.5:1 compression, 2000lbs, 4.56 gears. It will run on pump gas. We've been running 110 in it last year. It usually runs around 6.40-50. Just a mild bracket car. If I geared it for 1/4, the Richmond calculator puts it in the 9.30's.

yea gateway is more interested in that circle track than the drag strip Really? Have you seen a schedule yet for 2014? NDRL (Nostalgia Drag racing League), NMCA, NHRA Divisional, Super Street Car Shootout, St. Louis Nitro Rendezvous (DRO Nitro Funny cars, Kustom Rods, Rockabilly music) Night Of Fire and Thunder, NHDRA (Nat Hot Rod Diesel Drags)All added to the schedule. They will still have NHRA National Event, Midnight Madness, Super Chevy, Fun Ford, UBDRA, All American, Mid America Truckathon, Megabucks and a bracket series. They only have 1 oval event and drag racing almost every weekend.

Maybe we should all invest in nascar trucks! Thats the area of the track thats being invested in,not the drag strip. How do you come to that conclusion? In the past 2 years the drag pits have been sealed and striped, the entire concrete from burnout to about 500' has been ground level and polished, the nitro stands on both sides of the tower are new and there is a new pavilion attached to the concession stand with new tables and ceiling fans. There are more improvements planned.

yea gateway is more interested in that circle track than the drag strip Most on here wont support a track that is open or travel .I know some that do race alot and travel on here also . Some on here say they don't have the cash to race ,so dont blame any track that is open for your ass not being their . Get off the mental thought that Curtis came from circle racing and thats all he wants . That facility was built a multi purpose one . Glad to see all improvements money into the place means looking to the future . What the hell did Dover do for the place ? I guess they did something good sold the place dirt cheap to a local guy and it REOPENED PERIOD .

BTW, Even though Curtis came from circle tracks and boat racing, did you know he owns a COPO Camaro that he makes passes with at certain events?

I stand coreected, gateway is clearly the track for St.Louis area pro racers.I on the other hand have to trailer 2-3 hours to race a mid 11 Sec. muscle car.I would like to make more then 2-3 passes per day.I plan on goin to Mo-Kan in 2014.

I'm not saying GMP is the best track out there. It's just not as bad as some say. Hemiman brings up another issue. If Mo-Kan is IHRA and Havana and Cordova are IHRA, How is that going to affect car counts locally. If MAR is built to be a NHRA track like GMP will they be the only local tracks for the fast cars? NHRA doesn't accept IHRA license. So if a person's "home track" is one of the IHRA tracks, are they going to pay dual license, chassis certs and membership to go to MAR (or GMP) occasionally?

ihra cost for chassis cert is half cost,i see jerry bikle does them and cid is having a chassis cert, mar park ,Ronnie was talking nhra only at his meetings,im sure ihra is half the cost of nhra and why tracks went with them, plus ihra wants to put more tracks out the so ihra is nocking at doors of all tracks they can, nhra only has like 3-4 more tracks than ihra,so ihra might supase nhra in tracks and become the leader,i do hear a lot of complants about gmp,and lots of winiers more than any other tracks I see or read on,just go to any other tracks website or forum, they don't bad mouth there track,as gateway racers bad mouth there track

People are allowed to speak their minds. Some tracks that do have their own forum delete bad posts. A couple of years ago CID had their own forum. First they made people log on with their real name to try to control what was said. When that didn't work, they finally shut down the forum due to racer complaints. That is why they switched to using my forum. It gave them a way to get info out without being a direct tie to CID.

I remember the cid forum, that was really getting out of hand and they got beet up pretty bad,all it takes is one person to go off on something and then gets out of control

I'm not sure about IHRA, he bring Mike Vehige in to do his Chassis certs. As far as no one complaining about other tracks, dig around on this and Crossbones forum and you will see a lot of negative comments for every track around the area. A lot of people don't like the was Chris Blair is running things because he was brought in to make the facility profitable. Everyone pissed and moaned about Patrick Johnson and the way he ran things, hell they pissed and moaned when Dover ran it (ok Dover deserved the compaints) but the long and short of it is we as humans despise change, we become creatures of habit and buck the system when someone comes in and makes changes. Face it folks we evolve as a racers and we have to see our sport evolve or die. I remember when delay boxes came out and everyone grumbled about them, now every Super Pro running or most, have the latest and greatest electronics offered looking for that extra little edge. If you don't like the way someone isn't or is running a track load your stuff up and go somewhere else, if you don't like the way the sport is changing and the way tracks and sanctioning bodies mandate the rules put your stuff on Craigslist or Racingjunk and sell it. I at one point in time had both NHRA and IHRA memberships and license's, yes NHRA is more expensive but if you look around there aren't many IHRA tracks around the area most are NHRA or Outlaw. Yes Scott Gardner is increasing the IHRA's foot print but I truly think they have quite a way to go to catch the NHRA as far as quality of faciltys and the type of show they put on.

Mike Vehige does the NHRA Chassis Certs for Bickel is what he told us when he Cert'ed our chassis last year about this time in Jan. He does not do IHRA.
