thanks shawn, yea i think my convertor has to low of stall,im going to pull it out after the car show and send it out thanks for all of your help,my goal this year was to get into the nines ,i was close at the start with a 10.07,but thats in good air, during a hot day it runs 10.20,now your saying with the convertor fix i should go 9.60,im wanting to get off the stock brakes and go with race brakes, which should shave off some pounds, plus going to alky, what et would ya think ill turn then

Try a 4500 chip for leaving the line. I will double check with my dad on the converter.

after reading you motor spec your converter is WAY TOO TIGHT. You most likely need something 5500+ Your speed puts you into the 9.60 range alky will most likely pick you up. How much depends on how good your gas system is, but I would guess a min of 1 tenth. I had a old s-10 with a 355 and double hump heads. Switched it to alky and picked up about 8 tenths!!! Yes that is .8 seconds

It is very rare for a converter company to nail it on the first try. 135 mph is enough power to run in the 9's. I would bet money it is the converter. Could be a converter or maybe it's over cammed. Way to much duration will kill it on the bottom but run like a scalded dog on the top end. I do a lot of chassis set up here at my shop and ladder bars are the easiest things to adjust it's not funny. If your car comes out of the water straight and it's not leaving to the left or right it's probably pretty close. Like everyone has been saying though for a low 10 second car you should at least be up between 4500 to 5200 on the converter. You are probably running a 10 inch converter and unless you have a truckload of torque you probably should have an 8' in it or at least a 9'.
