Now if they just keep Mr. Dirt out of the place all will be great!!!! How can you keep him out of the loop . He has won or runner up at almost every race he has done this year . You won't believe it but it was in :oBRACKET RACING ! As he says is a dieing part of the sport . You all know what the OAS car count was and spectator count was also . I hope that Bret will be a asset to the new management for his vast knowledge . Bret and I go back along way and I'm verbal with the past programs . I'll support him if he supports bracket racing also.

bracket racing is far from being a dead sport, ,, brets a really good dragracer, and i have alot of respect for his abilities, and his knowlege is unparrelled (?) barr none, i think he would make a great track photo guy ,and also a a reporter to local newspapers/ media outlets , and the area tracks around could use his style of reporting as well,

I would even say that, with Bret's involvement the track has a MUCH better chance at surviving. In fact, I would not even consider a purchase unless I was sure he was on board.

IF, they open the facility this year, it will be to get some rubber on the track and to hopefully avoid having to grind the track. It will be slicks only, and nothing quicker than 10.00 until the surface gets groomed. Right now there is a problem with the northeast corner (where the second turnout was by the creek and Rt. 203. Hopefully that will also be worked out quickly.

Didn't they auction off all the electronics along with the equipment? Will they have to install a completely new system or is it just plug and play.

Hopefully that will also be worked out quickly. We would scrape it and race on it like any other weekend. Back when Keith Gray was running the track (when everybody said it hooked the hardest) it was scraped to bare concrete every week. We would scrape by hand for 1/2 a day in one lane the go back up the other the rest of the day. Sometimes that was 60's out sometimes farther. I designed a scraper that fits on the front of our equipment. What used to take all day can be done in an hour or 2. Think of it this way, The track sits every winter and they start with T&T every year running everything from 17 sec street cars to 7 sec dragsters. We also would have to scrape ALL the concrete bare every year for NHRA.

BTW any rubber that gets put down this fall will be scraped off next spring.

so the track could be prepared pretty fast with people that know what to do. Scraping the track makes sense I would think too much build up would work against traction to a point. I also think it was a good move to try and run a few races this year so the new management can talk to some racers and find out what everyone is looking for in 2012

Opening this year is more of a PR move IMO. It's good for the new owner and good for the racers.
