Once we see the activity start at the site, we will all take a big sigh of relief.
If most remember GIR didn't reopen til the MMW of so many years ago.
At that time we all thought it wouldn't open the whole year.

Now that things are moving ahead does anyone know about spectator and entry fees for the coming season? I think it is going to be a blast.

Steve was on here the other day said the surveyors were done last Friday and they and Ronnie had to go over the results to make sure they were complete and accurate then on to the next step. ;D

Thanks SHAWN for opening this back up to what it is really for. INFO and Updates. Ronnie, I bought a shovel because I was there for the FIRST MAR back in 1963 and now I have something for the NEW MAR PARK that will live on. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK I know it is killing you now.

Just read on the bullet that they said that KCIR is closing this coming year. I wonder if that was part of the plan for MAR. If they knew it was going to close. Just a thought. And yes I know more gossip just what we needed.

That would be a shame, but yes rumors suck. If I can get some time over the weekend I will stop out at the track and get some pics to post.

Lucas Oil is building a new track just north of Sedailia MO I thought he was building it down in Wheatland where his dirt track and drag boat racing track are? That is located south of Sedalia. |

And yes I know more gossip just what we needed. Ronnie has been planning this track since MAR closed in 2004. He had no idea gateway or KCIR would be closing when started this process. Personally I wish they were all open and MARP was still being built. I hate to see tracks closed especially one with a long history like KCIR even if they are too far of haul for me to race at regularly. |

The killing of KCIR was and is a political/ power deal. There was a lot of information about it on the classic funny car board last night.

Looks like some equipment could be bought for MARP .
Tractors ,sprayers,Tree , Bleachers ,etc .
Also when Eloia was talked about track specs and amenities were disclosed .
Water cooled, heated track ,storage parking for trailers ,playground real bathrooms and potable water .
Anything updated or new to this project ,now that the land has saved that cash outlay ?
Tell us about what will be appealing to a new track project in 2012.

Thanks What is appealing is: we will have a place to race. If that is all that the track has for us that is better than what we have now. The other stuff is just as you said, amenities. |

I would like a full bathroom for sure. Not for me but for the females in the family!! Went to I 57 and my mom had to clean one of the port a johns before she would sit in it. Clean Bathrooms are a must in my Opinion

Permanent restrooms and showers with an attendent for each. Nothing worse than a nasty restroom or shower. these are a for sure amenity!
