8-)Just thinking and that is dangerous if the consession stands could be built like the old ones at MAR that would be great.

"I don't think people leaving the seats has anything to do with throttle stops. Most people that attend a national event are there to see 300mph nitro burning cars. They have no interest in a 160mph 8.90 dragster or a 140 mph doorcar. " As I stated a long time ago my position is from a longtime racer a long time ago to a spectator for the past 10-12 years when I go to a national show (2-4 times a year) I watch almost the whole show I leave during the pro mods, I am not like NASCAR spectators waiting to see a crash. And although I admit not understanding the nuances of electronic racing I am gone during the throttle stop racing also. The problem is a track cannot be profitable on racers alone and if it bores the spectators it hurts the profits.During the big shows not so much because it drives the spectators into the midway to spend$$$.Racers thinking the track is only there for them and who cares about the spectators are making a huge mistake as without them they would have no place to race. Pro Mods are one of my favorite classes. The cars don't look like cookie cutter Pro Stocks. What a lot of racers won't admit is that the super comp, gas, street classes are simply filler for the big guys. If people were there to see them, they would be there every Saturday night. They are not. They want to see the big names. Too many people are the "Fast and Furious" crowd. "I saw a movie where a guy had a 9 second Honda Civic. Why does that dragster with the big engine and headers only run 8's"? Go to a stock car event. People want to sit at the finish line. they want to see who wins. Go to the drags and they sit at the starting line. They want to look at cars, see burnouts and wheel stands. They don't care how close the finish is. I've always said, spectators will sit at the starting line, racers will sit at the finish line to watch. Now I know why I set at the finish line. thanks ill be looking forwared to bringing my hot rod to your track and not to just carshows anymore. can someone give me an address so i can map quest it.
