I need some immediate help. I recently built a SBC 400 and it has the starter bolts that are angled/horizontal with each other. The starter rocks when it engages with the flyweel. I need an immediate solution to this. If the motor doesn't start immediately and the compression kicks in, it rocks the starter and the bendix gears collide with the flywee.. 911 HELP NOW

They make a bracket that bolts onto the starter (top endcap bolt should have a little stud sticking off it) and that bolts to the block. It is designed to help keep the starters from rocking when you crank the motor. Not sure but I may have a few of them laying around.

I bought the powermaster starter with staggered ans straight and used all 3 bolts on my 400. I had the same problem till I bought that.
