I’ve been working on a project for quite a while that I am confident will help everyone in the drag racing community through a funding effort that has quickly become a popular means to finance projects.
The intent of the Drag Racing Crowd is to help independent/underfunded race teams, tracks, etc. offset expenses generally provided by sponsors/advertisers. It is open to anyone with a compelling story and legitimate need to raise funds. Whether they need a little extra money for travel to the next race, have a bad luck situation they are trying to overcome, building a new track, or raising money for a cause to help a fellow racer, they can reach out through the Drag Racing Crowd. The ultimate goal is to utilize successful campaigns to illustrate the power of the ‘crowd’ to potential sponsors. It is another means to show businesses the impact racers have on the drag racing community and how their support can translate to revenue for their company.
The Drag Racing Crowd provides a single platform for the drag racing community to tell their stories and raise money through crowdfunding campaigns. Crowdfunding is the practice of funding a project or venture by raising small amounts of money from a large number of people in exchange for rewards/perks as incentives for people to contribute.
We have gained some national attention recently through various drag racing websites and there is an article scheduled to be published in the next issue of National Dragster. We will also be featured on WFO Radio with Joe Castello in coming weeks. You can visit our website or Facebook page for additional information. The platform will be fully functional this week and I trying to spread the word to others that may be interested in utilizing the service.
