was at Wheatland Lake Lucas this past weekend for the Lucas Drag Boat Series. They have the base all laid and at grade for the drag strip which will run along side the draq boat lake. Concrete batch plant is set up on site. Did not hear any dates for completion.Lucas officials at the drivers meeting made announcements about Firebird Raceway in Chandler (Phoenix)Az. NHRA has signed leased for the drag strip,Lucas has signed lease for the lake and offroad track. New name is Wildhorse Pass Motorsports Park.

You are correct on the base and concrete mobile plant . It has been that for two years or longer. My wife and I got the whole tour back in 2011. If you notice it would be a 1/8 track. Ronnie

I guess then it will have an extra long staging and shutdown area. base is same length as the lake 4000 ft. you may be right,i have no info whether the plans are for 1/8 or 1/4. I have also been going since 2011 when the lake opened,they have done a lot of work on the base since I was last there,grading stakes,storm drains, nighttime lighting etc.. but again like I said did not hear any dates for completion. was just putting out general info for interested racers. Forrest and Charlotte Lucas were in attendance,maybe I should have asked them. lol
