Hello to the MARPARK officials. My name is Terry, I am part of a family Sand Drag Racing Team,we are located in the Kansas city area,the track that we race on now is in Grain valley mo.we are interested to know if down the road you have given any thought to putting in a sand drag drag strip? there is a lot of racers that would most likely travel to your track to race there, if there was a track for us to race on.you can check out some of the cars that race at our track at, www.thundervalleysanddrags.com |

we had a sand drag track for many years but folded up i think last year

We were there two years ago on the fourth of July weekend, my brother raced down there,had the fastest ET car that weekend we were down there. his dragster is called USA, has a eagle painted on top of body with the Flag starting at the front wheels.there were four cars from the Thunder Valley track down there that weekend. we had talked about coming back down when we found the track had closed.

We thought this new track might put in a sand drag track,cut down on travel time.the track in Bonne Terre just really doesn't have enough shut down for the big cars we have at the grain valley track.

Did the sand drag thing back in the 70's. Went to Cleves a couple times and even tried the big elim hill. The cematary on the other side at the top was kind of profetic. Had a friend that ran a jeep with a hemi named Woodstock. There were 2 versions of it. Bob Chandler helped build the 2nd version. That was before Big Foot was big. If I remember correctly there was a guy that worked for Kirn that was hurt pretty bad in a racing accident and after that with kids and all I got out of it. As a side note Gateway even had a sand / dirt drag only once as there was a accident where a car from a shop named PV4 went through the fence and hit spectator cars. Things were a lot different back then

From what i heard the guy that owned the track has leased it or sold it to someone else and they are supposedly running it.heard they have already had a big race this year, unfortunately it was on the same weekend we had a race. Still it would be nice to have another track here in Mo.

Big River is still open atv nats is this weekend. It would be nice to see a Sand track out west ome where as big river is almost 2 hours away for me
