Well, regardless of what kind of racing you do, put a good Pro-Tree brake in it, you'll be happier.

Can anybody out here legitimately give any reasons why a powerglide would work for me. I have a brand new one but have heard mixed opinions on whether or not it would work for me. My car with me in it is 3250. 79 Malibu,408,ladder bar set up w/coilover shocks, 15 x 9 x 29.5 slick. Estimate Hp 500-600. No guessing please. currently using 400 turbo with trans brake fully set up for racing.

My apologies sir. I just thought since transmissions were being discussed I'd get an opinion.

Looks great,,, what u all say we just deal with the other issues(sun in my face, hard to turn right from the staging lanes, and all the other distractions later) lets just enjoy that there will be a place to race and have fun.. No offense, but I disagree with this post. Not being able to make a turn from the staging lanes into the water box needs to be brought to somones attention BEFORE they spend the money on something that could have been corrected before it was built. If a event comes to this new track, do you think a top fuel team is going to want to rock a dragster back and forth to make a turn to line up into the water box?

Pomona, Pheonix, Reading to name just a few.
