Head wind is no problem just need more horse power. The track is like my new engine / car, it will get done just not as soon as hoped. All though the track stands a better chance of being done before my car. 2 steps forward and 1 back. (my car not the track )

High horsepower and stock 727 planetaries do not mix well, saw proof of that in Billy's tranny at Monster Mopar.

Mike Montgomery owner of the bugger green Roadrunner, and a rear engine dragster. Kenny Helton is another person who can build a killer Torqueflyte, but you still need the aftermarket planetaries for it to live!

kenny helton built me one and it blew up,try to call him leave message never return call, brought one from tranzact that was a joke,it blew up he said he wouldnt back up parts labor or nothing, been hearing good things about powerglides, the cost dont bother me as long as i can get more than 2 races out of a 727,i did take my convertor to trans parts, they opened it up and nothing was wrong so had it freshen up

Trans Parts, wouldn't work on my stuff, !! I have a rebuilt race converter from them , give it away now, ! A converter can kill any good trans! 727 are by far the easiest, one of the best trans you can run,, Sorry you having some bad luck or questionable rebuilds! Dan Smith has build my trans I haven't broke one yet! not even so much as a tailshaft crack! A Powerglide does work well IF YOU SPEND THE MONEY! just remember , you could lose et, with the gear change ! Glides work best with light cars, Say under@2700! Your car is running great! If and when you change it out, let me know what the et does, as my car is light, and I will be building a much bigger motor over winter!!

Still have the scars from the night the car caught fire at the old Gateway.

Generally the break for weight is 3000# and I have built several Glides for several people and can usually do a good one for around $750. Granted you are going to have some extra expense because you are going to have to buy an Ultra Bell to adapt it to your Mopar, but generally as a rule you can expect to pick up around 3 tenths by switching to a glide.

3 Tenths !!! Really? My car is light,, , over winter I do plan on a new and bigger motor, as the motor I have in there now , is a decent piece, but it just a throw together! I will look into the 'glide' issue for sure! It's ok Don, harmless talk, no need undies in a bunch!!
