Any truth to the rumor that the circle track in New Florence is re-opening?

They ran out of money. They were up against Pevely if I remember correctly. They had big crowds in the beginning.

Daddy took the money away from the kid and they stopped paying out as many places and people quit going.
I have it on good authority that Randy Matlock has made an offer to buy the place and if they accept his offer he has tapped Stacy from the Hub Cap and Wheel store to run it. Pevely has been sold and there are some concerns about the new management group that is going in there.

Yep, family feud caused the track to close, (long story short). Didn't know Kenny sold Pevely, who's rumored to be the new management group? Is it still supposed to be part of the Allied Auto Racing group?

Wounder how 'deep' Kenny is invovled with Federated Auto? mmm ?
by the way not a slam , as we go the 'attacks' on racing in general seams to be getting on a very high not , tri-city has been under the gun for awhile and the furture at risk there is great, and we will see it closed due to noise! before long,
With Kenny leaving the so called 'owner part' , he alieves his self from that fury.

Federated Acquires Naming Rights to I-55 Raceway in Missouri
Track to Host Federated World of Outlaws “Ironman 55” Race and “Get Dirty with Kenny” Contest Winners in 2012
STAUNTON, Virginia – January 9, 2012 – One of the most famous dirt tracks in the country will have a new name in 2012, the Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55. Located in Pevely, Mo., the speedway annually hosts some of the most competitive dirt track races in the nation. Federated also announced that the Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 will be the site of the inaugural 2012 Federated Auto Parts World of Outlaws “Ironman 55” race in August.
“We are thrilled that the Federated Auto Parts name will now be associated with one of the most popular dirt tracks in the nation,” said J.R. Bishop, director of racing and event marketing for Federated Auto Parts. “At Federated, we have been involved with dirt track racing on all levels for many years so this is a perfect fit for us. We look forward to hosting many of our members and their great customers at the track in the coming year.”
The Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 is co-owned by longtime Federated spokesperson and dirt track legend Ken Schrader. In addition to a full schedule of weekly dirt track races from March through October, the Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 will also host several hundred Federated members, customers and manufacturing partners on Aug. 4 for the inaugural Federated Auto Parts World of Outlaws “Ironman 55” race. The speedway will also be the site of the annual Federated “Get Dirty with Kenny” promotion where lucky Federated Car Care Center members will get the chance to race against Schrader.
“The new Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 is an exciting addition to our motorsports program,” said Bishop. “We have many great events and promotions planned that our Federated members will both enjoy and leverage to help grow their individual businesses.”

Being a outsider I get the feeling there are to many circle Tracks in missouri that is what hurts them here, were drag strips there are currently 3 , hwy,36 , springfield 1000 ft,mo-kan. where circle tracks not sure how many but a bunch.. www.racingin.com/track/missouri.aspxeven the start fair has a circle car track. well it looks like 42 circle tracks in missouri and 3 drag strips and none are nhra sanction. |

Like from where the circle track in New Florence use to be?

From where the old circle track is, you go 1 mile west on the south service road. That is where the new MAR will be. Look for a big sign saying MARP american flag theme and a green road sign Mid America Raceway Park between 19 and Danville exit south outer rd . Attachments:
