Hey everyone! Just wondering what converter information I can get. Wanting to buy and get one in my car by spring. And I only wanna buy one once. And insight would be appreciated! Car has a 3800-4200 Alabama right now and its great for building boost but way too loose in high gear....
Car is an 87 Mustang stock 302 w/70mm turbo 10psi

Get all the information about your car, and what type of racing that you do (Pro-Tree, Full Tree, ect.) and call three converter companies of your choice and let them tell you what would be best for your combination. You'll get a better converter than an off the shelf unit.

I agree slingshot, so much goes into the making of the 'right ' converter , being you only want to put it in 1 time. weight of the car, trans break, type gearing size tire, camshaft/ heads will be the biggest factor, then type of racing you will be do, as stated, Then comes that unknown pieces , how much hp torque does the motor produce , and when does it , a dyno would tell you that . As for dynos , that's another story , as it seams, everyone has different reads on them as well,, but they can get you into the ball park rather close I like Dynamic, Turbo Action , Coan , A-1 is right there to , gather as much info as you can on your car, ask for the ford guy there that builds that type of converter, bet he will get the most for you, Plan on anywhere from 850-1400 $
