Mr Bridges is surely tring to make it appear that he is not at fault, but yet he and his lawyers abviously looked the offer over, and accepted the offer from the city, now that the paper are signed , and it's a done deal he does't want to look as tho he is the bad guy, Granted , , this 'pressure ' he received from the city , is a little bit of 'arm bending' , no doubt! but ,, you never get into a signed contract to sell anything that is not of you're free will , and on the advise of an attorney! Todd Bridges is an employee of N3 and was blind-sided as much as everyone else. The situation is very confusing but obviously politically motivated. What the owners had to do with this is unknown but the paper evidence points to a condemnation letter being sent, in May 2011, to the NHRA Div 5 Office, addressed specifically to Rob Parks (one of the owners). If true, and the owners wanted to keep the track open, why was this info not shared? (Makes you question the dedication of the NHRA and Rob Parks to local grass-roots racers.) Obviously, the general public (racers) did not have any time to fight city hall and the measure was passed almost in secret. There have been outright lies and half-truths apparently by both the owners and Councilwoman Cindy Circo. So who has what stake is up for speculation, but the racers are the true losers here. I have raced at KCIR (points and all) for about 4 years now and with many friend and family in the KC area, have an "inside track" to any public information. - Minimal at best! Some one said it before: There's a jerk in the woodpile somewhere! Steve

Here is the latest email from the KCIR Tack Manager, sent Sunday night: Dear All, I am sorry I have not been able to send out an update the past couple of days but we have had 2 VERY big events and I have continued to work tirelessly doing everything I possibly can to make sure that our message gets out. While I can't promise you at this time that we will get an outcome that we like, I can promise you that OUR VOICES ARE BEING HEARD! We still have a very difficult road to navigate but I am convinced that our collective efforts give us a good chance of getting an outcome that is much better than the one we were looking at just a couple of days ago. We are having a Save KCIR Rally (rain or shine) in front of City Hall (414 E. 12th St. Kansas City Missouri, 64106) on Monday, November 7th at 4:30 p.m. to show our solidarity. We sure would have liked to had it later on that day and ideally with more notice but decisions regarding the future of the KCIR Family are coming quickly. In addition to make the news cycle and to be there at a time where there are people there to hear our voices we chose this time. If you can make the time your continued support would be greatly appreciated. Here is a link to the Event: Click HERE I am also supporting the petition effort started by Adam Carter. Although we clearly understand our KCIR will someday be a park I do not support it being a park today. In addition I clearly understand this is not a petition effort that has any legal standing but I feel that it is one way to easily show how much support we have. Here is a link to the petition website I am hopeful that you will "sign" the petition and share this information with your network: www.change.org/petitions/the-mo-state-senate-please-dont-turn-kcir-into-a-park . The latest information on the efforts to save our home away from home (including links to the latest media coverage) can be found on the following sites. Save Kansas City International Raceway - Click HERE Why Close KCIR Now? - Click HERE KCIR's FaceBook Page - Click HERE I hope that you will share these with everyone you know. In addition to "Liking" these FaceBook pages please don't forget to click on the "Share" icon when you run across something that pushes your buttons. Thank you all again for all that you have done to support the efforts to keep a home for drag racing in Kansas City! I hope to see you tomorrow at the solidarity rally. Sincerely, Todd Bridges

Todd Bridges is the track Manager ,Ron Parks and others are owners . Some others that race out their, know more than you and I would know . But thats J.M.O. My dog not in the fight, my chances of racing there would be slim to none, but I never want to see tracks close. The battle that has been brought to them is not a new one, it has been there a long time, and why now of all times is the sale a done deal, what changed ? If you was an owner , and you was looking out for the best interest of you're racers, you wouldn't keep it under bed, put you're head in the sand , then say well, it's over, sold see ya bye! As for Mr.Bridges, he is the manager, he runs the place instead of the actual owner, so, he should know all the dealings, and be in touch with the owner at all times! If not , then there is something wrong there to. Cow is out of the barn guys, if the owner has no more desire to keep the track or rebuild else where, then, only a miracle can work . Just look at M A R P , and the challenges it has had to meet just to get it where it is!

But read your first sentence Ok 2nd 3rd 4th Ok the whole Damn thing. Maybe the owners didn't want to say something ,But as usual you have a thought on how this is playing out ,just as every other topic and assumption . We all want the tracks to stay open or reopen or even get built. Please others comment on this topic or tell me to go away if I'm a P.I.A . I'll be happy to go Because my tolerance of assumptions without facts posted publicly is getting small . But hey I 'm a A%% and fill in the blank . Signed ME

You guys are so sensitive ! If i have an opinion about something that strikes me as , there is something wrong, or if there is a topic that I am very familiar with , yes I will say something, it is just my take on things , just as it is you're the way you think of me, right ,wrong indifferent , I have never came out personal attacked anyone on any board at anytime unlike what transpired here. i think that it is very sad that even on this topic , someone can't post what they believe happening , or whats not happening! or have an opinion about a certain topic . I have put in my time , I work for a living like everyone else, I vote in every election good or bad, I vote , gives me the right to go and Bixxch at someone at some time and be heard . be daxxxed if I let 2 guys tell me were to get off ,when to piss ! Anything that i post seems you 2 guys have something to input and it is usually to the bad ! and it's ever about the subject at hand, It's usually about the poster! Carry on

Sure sounds like wealthy people just wanting their way. Maybe KC is different, but I don't see a lot of property around here being developed lately. As for building another track, if the stuff in that article is true, the owners may not be in a big hurry to stick their hands back in the meat grinder. Who could blame them? Maybe they could borrow Elliot Davis and shine some light on who is destroying a successful, legal, business operation. That's a good idea! Expose how in hard times the politicians elected to spend many thousands of dollars making a park while exterminating a revenue making business. Maybe they should just raise the taxes in the surrounding neighborhood to pay for the park.

Latest from KCIR I am afraid that no news is not good news in this case. To this point there has been no direct response from anyone to the pertinent questions and concerns voiced by the 1000s of people that do not support the immediate closing of KCIR other than the feabile attempt on the FaceBook page (click HERE). Since that point in time either silence or pushing the blame off on another department has been the City's policy. This policy does not bode well for our efforts to keep a safe and controlled environment for drag racing while we have time to at least begin the relocation process. I wish more than you can imagine that I could write this with more positive news. I understand from various sources that there are many that want to make one last trip to City Hall to attempt to get some kind of response. If there is an effort to move forward with this I will immediately let everyone know the details. I will say that if there is any hopes of another trip having impact on the situation the KCIR Family finds itself in it will take hundreds of people. Tomorrow night (Tuesday 11/15) the Citizens' Commission on Municipal Revenue will hold the first of 2 public hearings to listen to citizen concerns about the current revenue situation and hear constructive suggestions for change that will enhance the City's financial future. While this is not a place to voice our opinions about the underhanded politics that have gotten us to this point, it is a forum where we can voice our opinions about the negative financial impact of closing KCIR now and offer our ideas about how a new dragstrip could provide an enhanced revenue stream in the future. As I understand it this Commission is a well connected and powerful group. I hope that we can put a good group together to attend this hearing. This first hearing will be held on Nov. 15, 6 p.m., Northland Regional Chamber of Commerce, 634 NW Englewood Road, Kansas City, MO 64118 at 6 p.m. It would be great going into the The Citizens' Commission on Municipal Revenue public hearing tomorrow night and be able to say the following: 1. We have over 6,000 people that have signed the petition to keep the historical drag racing heritage of Kansas City alive now and in the future. So we need less than 50 to add their name to the petition here: www.change.org/petitions/the-mo-state-senate-please-dont-turn-kcir-into-a-park2. We posted the idea for keeping KCIR open until we can move forward with a new Motorsports City on the City's KC Momentum website and we have gotten enough support for this idea that it is Top 5 (or better) idea. So we only need 80 (but the more the better) more "SECONDS" for the "Idea" to get into the top 5. Sign up and "SECOND" here: www.kcmomentum.com/budget-priorities-best-city-activities/a-motorsports-city-attraction-featuring-a-world-class-drag-stripAnything you can do to help achieve these two goals would be great. This includes participating yourself if you haven't already and/or getting the word out to others. We will be open this weekend weather permitting and the details of this weekend's racing activities will be posted soon. Thank you one and all! From Todd Bridges, (former) manager of KCIR, (as quoted from FaceBook) It is with the deepest level of sadness that this weekend will be the last chance ever to race at KCIR. I can't even begin to put in words how much I appreciate each and everyone of you for putting up a gallant fight. Without the support of thousands we would have had NO chance. For those of you that dedicated countless hours in our effort I am forever grateful. There is a number of people that dedicated more than their fair share of time and money and you have a level of gratitude from me that you can only begin to imagine. I regret that our efforts and the voice of thousands went unheard. I am happy though that most of us can go away with our heads high and can say that we gave it our all. Right now I am in the process of finalizing points and providing a points payout. Beyond that my and my family's future is uncertain. Over the past years my financial situation has not gone as planned so obviously finding a new job so that I can provide for my family will be job #1. Again thank you all for what you have done and what you have stood for and I hope that we have a chance to say a proper goodbye soon.
My comments: KCIR was a great place to race and had a great friendly atmosphere - reminded me of MAR - now we've lost both, this time through the backdoor activities of politicians - and others continue to try to stop the "rebirth" of MAR - Jerks!

Well we can only hope that we get a new track in KC sometime but I do not have much hope.
I am from Marshall MO and we have a few die hard drag racers that will be looking for a new track to race at.
My son and I have taken the last 2 years off so he could get started raising a new family and we could do a much needed rebuild of our car and to be honest we are a long way from even being close to ready not looking good for next year either.
But we are looking forward to giving you all's new track a try when it's done.
Good luck with getting it built and ready to run next spring.
