Heard that the Division 5 guys are wondering what the hell is going on with this place, also heard that Mike Vehige isn't very optimistic about the future of the place as well. He told Ronnie like everyone else has just to open it as an 1/8 mile facility to get it up and running, don't try to build a Topeka or Gateway because he can't afford it, seems to fall on deaf ears.
And Hemiman I have it on good authority that the 3rd option is what he is going to try to get people to do. Hey, I don't mind helping out but what happens when this plan dies too? Do we all get our money back or is it going to be a $100.00 ponzie scheme?

I have no plans at this time to be a share holer till I see dirt or something happening at the location, then I might become a share holder,at least at Keokuk, there doing something with the place, have bids and what not going on,have ahra involved,i have a feeling that place will be built, but I need to see things doing at mar park location before I become a share holder besides the signed being blown down

He last said that he had 20,000 likes on FB and if all of them gave $100.00 he would have enough to get the place up and running again. Ronnie has at least put up some collateral in this project but that being said I think the general plan may be a little zealous for what he has to work with financially. I am one of the ones that has been saying all along start as an 1/8 mile track and work your way up from there, start generating some income instead of all the outlay of cash.

I wont be able to attend the meeting, but My offer I made long ago still stands. Ill offer my labor for free, but I wont put in one cent till Im buying a racing pass on opening day. It would be different if they ran out of money half way thru construction and had half of a dragstrip going, but they have NOTHING started. HAve they looked into a T.I.F.? Loans/donations from local bussiness'? Looking forward to hearing about the meeting. Hell, we may all end up looking like ass's and all they ask for is a barn raising style gathering. Edit: I would love to "settle" for an 1/8th mile track.

Yes, I agree - start the track out as an 1/8th mile facility. It's just as much fun running an 1/8 the mile as the quarter and safer to boot! Much easier to maintain too. Rattler.

I agree with you guy's, 1/8 Mile to get things started, then work into full 1/4 mile. I myself think 1/8 mile is so safe it is sickening. Course I have seen some of the Jeg's Quick 32 at Mid State that were Dam Fast and ran of the end of the track. But for most cars 1/8 mile is a lot slower and I think it is harder for guy's to Sand bag like they do in the 1/4. OOP's Nobody Sand Bags now do they. we will see what comes out of the meeting.

Man, This is a GOOD IDEA HEMIMANN4262003 has. You would be surprised how many people would give up a few bucks to help. I looked at the site. Kind of like Indiegogo some what. That is a Campaign site to raise moneys.

If there was some real action like dirt moving talking people and businesses out of some money would be easier. But so many that supported this before I'm sure have lost some interest with all of the broken promises. I guess I should say failed attempts not promises. I with you guys if money allows 1/4mile great but if you can only do 1/8 that's fine two. I would also check into Government money they give to every other project just tell them we are endangered species Bracket racers !!!

Not sure what happened to that idea or if it was blown out of the water. May be a good question to ask this Sunday at the meeting.
