I think you have to be a NHRA member and maybe have a comp number to get the free ETI. Gateway did both. ETI was free. They charged for the VIP.

Glad to hear that MARP is looking at an VIP inspection. I had it done there every year (before getting ETI) at GIR. VIP was great, jut fill out tech card and hand carry it to tech. Done.

Your talking past tense with GIR and MAR. Haven't seen anything, anywhere for a eti ,vip ,most were setup at track . Only seen chassis cert now at remote locations . Al isn't certified to cert ,but did set it up at reggies . He could do VIP ,ETI . Most everyone on here from GIR didn't need to go up for TECH anyway ,most would sign off .

True, all you had to do even at GIR (especially if you were a regular and they knew you) is just take your tech card to tech and done. Al would sometimes even come to your trailer and sign it for you. Doesn't get such better than that.

I know many racers relate to how hard it is to be 10 minutes from a race track that will not be open. I'm not motivated to get my car ready with no place to go. I hope this all pans out. I look foward to making 1/4 mile passes because thats what I built.

Sounds like your still moving forward to me, Dennis
Just take it easy on that back. I ruined mine back in my 30's and it never got better. I just learned to deal with it.
