Was this displayed at the show? On the way home I realized that I never saw it so I was wondering it was there and I just missed it. yes, he did bring them down for the car show and in fact he brought some copies that he gave us to sell at the show as well. Not sure if there were any left at the end or not, but there will be more of them available at future events. Yes, there were some left....only a couple of them sold that I'm aware of. These were sent home with Ronnie & Brenda. As well as left-over bumper stickers and t-shirts.

i was thinking that i read somewhere that there was at least 1 event that took place at the track every year that it was open..dont know if that is true or not... also i think that the Gateway Street rod club really got the track going again around 84 with the first nostaglia drags..not sure when they went to a full season race schedule though. the early nostalgias were all pre 65 cars..and mostly street rods pre 48 cars.... there is really a lot of history with the track..involving diff mangers/events/etc...it would be neat to see a timeline of MAR with all of the old dates/managers events and so on... Yeah, the Gateway Street Rodders used the place for a few nostaligia events and I believe you are correct thinking it was 1984. They did a few shows and I guess the Mitchell Brothers saw it was a pretty good draw so they leased the track from the Vehiges in 1988. I believe they ran it for about a half a season and they decided they didn't want anything to do with it and took off leaving the track to Mike, Clem, Ann and Dan Vehige to run which they did until October of 2004. The Vehiges always ran a great show and you always got out at a decent time. Won a few races there over the years and was leading the points in 88 when the Mitchells took off with everything.

I sure would've like to have seen the display but it's my fault for not thinking to look for it while I was there. Hopefully it'll be shown again somewhere.
