has anyone heard the story of Bill Kulmann doing some fire burnouts at MAR on a weeknight?  ?...there are supposed to be some pictures of it out there somewhere...post em if you have them! |

I can't wrap my head around it if it is, unless he is headed towards the starting line maybe? Because there were no bleachers on the starting line side of the bridge except on spectator side and he is in the left lane so that is not it? |

yeah..he is turned around goin the wrong way.. ...when i found out about this ...i read that they took the pics going backwards, not sure why.

Yes, he is going the wrong way. I think that it was because of the way that the wind was blowing when they did the pics. That was done one evening at MAR, I remember a friend of mine telling me he was there when it happened.

Every time I go to Mark Twain Lake I think about stopping in at BK's place since it is directly across from the camp ground entrance, but I dont know if it is open to the public, but Im sure he is not open on the holiday weekends when Im up there..

YEAH KEVIN, THE WIND WAS BLOWING THE FLAMES THE WRONG WAY AND WE HAD ONE HECK OF A TIME GETTING THE FIRE TO BURN. BY THE TIME THE MIXTURE WAS RIGHT WE THOUGHT THE CAR WAS GOING TO GO UP IN FLAMES. DON'T REMEMBER WHAT YEAR IT WAS BUT IT WAS FOR HIS FIRST PRESS CARD FOR SUMMIT RACING.

Garlits did a fire burnout at MAR years ago, I don't have pics of it, cause I helped pour the gas and throw the match!
