My dad and I were just talking about the "race" the other day. He actually found a poster advertising the race. Neat pictures by the way...I think we have a some pics of the cars in front of the sign also. I'll check.

Whats the deal with the St Charles Chuck. We used to go down there alot. ( to actually eat ). Looked like your cruises would boom, but I guess not too many peolpe were actually supporting your business. I noticed they started closing earlier and earlier than they just closed up. I stopped over in St. Johns not too long ago. Used to live by that one when I was little.

That's just it dude, the car shows were great, friday nights were great too. BUT....business was pretty much dead Sun -Thurs. The lack of sales and the fact that there are like 10 other restaurants on that corner pretty much led to our demise. The competition drove us out, sort of like they did in the early '70's when we had to close 7 of our stores. The only thing we can do now is hope business stays somewhat decent at the Rock Road location.

back in the 80's i was racing my 67 chevy 2 against a friends 69 camaro after one of the cruise nights.. when a cop wanted in on the fun, cop hit the lights and i pulled over,then he went after my buddy ,i was like ..im not waiting for the next cop to show up ,i bailed and made it home . My buddy wasnt so lucky went he got to the house he a fist full of tickets. Thats what you get for having a faster car ..LOL.
