here is the deal..what would you do? you have a full tube chassis with strut front and 4 link rear. the chassis is complete minus the welding (only tacked with mig)
now considering that you have a fully capabable mig welder and a fully capable tig welder...which route would you choose to finish welding the chassis?? it has been tacked with the mig and 2 or 3 joints have already been mig welded.. so let me hear your thoughts!!

If you are better at one type of welding than the other, than that is the best choice.

Id say with the scrap tubing, start to practice your tig welding. Im kinda partial to that!

Always TIG if you have the equipment and the ability. If you made that first weld, then you definitely have the ability. TIG welding allows you to have more control of the heat you induce into the material, therefore less stresses are introduced into the weld area.

Mild steel right? But I would still TIG it.

Tig it, You will get less warp from heat. Those welds are real nice.

depending on the steel, and with a tube chassis i would tig weld it for a better weld, with a crome moly ,should allways be tig welded, yes you can spot weld it with a mig to get it where you want it and then go back over it with a tig, mild steel would be ok with a mig,a stick is a stronger weld but would get to hot,a mig would do the same if temp is set to high,i would prefer a tig for a chassis, thats your life your talking about there
