After doing some research and talking with some folks I think you will find the engine computer took a crap on you. The way to find out is to put a scanner on it and measure the injector pulse width at idle you may find it to be high 3.5+msec when it should be 1.5 or 1.6msec the indication is the running ok or almost ok with one injector killed the injector driver section of the cpu must have gone stupid as you have checked and corrected everything but the problem easy to verify with scanner tool. Gene He did already. He said what he has replaced in his initial post. This will be interesting to see what it turns out to be. Probably going to be some stupid little thing that we all have over looked or not given any thought about.

It's those pesky little things drive ya crazy, still think might be broken wire (s), or bad connections, around back side of intake, but , just a guess. hope it turns out a easy fix for him .

Well after everything has been changed and retested, then it leaves the pcm going bad, or wiring /connector issue? You would think if it was the pcm that the meter reading would show'off' somewhere? I take it that the injectors are actually pulsing before, and during run operation?

Check all grounds. The ones at the thermostat housing have been known to cause issues. They look good but not good connection. Take them apart and clean them and look for broken wires. Unfortunatly dealers are open on Sat. I should know, Gm has forced them to be open.

bracketracing AT&T phone book, page82 of the yellow pages, Gastorf/Strumpf Servie hours are Monday /Friday 7:00am to 5:30 pm, CLOSED SAT. and SUN. On the service dept. door it only shows Monday thru Friday so Im guessing they arent open Saturdays, I was there on a Saturday and They werent open.. And as Ive stated before, Ive checked all grounds. I dropped it off a Gastorf/Strumpf Wednesday, told them everything Ive done, Josh checked with his scanner, Zisser tire having it for a week and a half, and still same problem. They said it looks like they have a challenge on their hands. I gave them the list of all the new parts Ive put on with all the old parts I took off. We'll see what they find.

Well they left me listed as the Service manager 9 months after I left. Their door is not up to date either. Open 8-12 Saturdays. Thats not suprising. I was just trying to help

Well, my little truck runs fine again. They said they replaced the EGR and the thermostat. But they couldnt explain why the EGR made it run rich. And my temp gauge always sat at 200 degrees so I know my t-stat wasnt bad, it reads the same with the new one and it never took long to warm up. But $472. and they wonder why nobody wants to bring their car to them. But it runs fine so Im happy, broke...... but happy.

"But $472. and they wonder why nobody wants to bring their car to them"
but they fixed it and how much money would you have been ahead if you would have took it there first instead of throwing things at it and attempting the repair?.....not to mention 3 weeks of aggravation....

Thats the way it always goes. Nobody can fix it after spending a bunch of money themselves then complains it cost too much. We see it everyday.

Thats the way it always goes. Nobody can fix it after spending a bunch of money themselves then complains it cost too much. We see it everyday. Yep, I learned that lesson myself the hard way. Took a generator to a guy that knew all about them.. yeah right!!! $1000.00 later in parts and labor my generator was still junk and wouldn't stay running. Took it to Cummins Mid-South $104.00 later I had it back purring like a kitten. Take it to people that are trained and have the equipment to check your stuff out, would have saved me a butt load of money in the long run. Now if it was a regular car I wouldn't have had any problem diagnosing it but seeing that it was Onan Generator and I had ZERO information on it I was only guessing at anything I did. So I instead took it to a friend of a friend that works on small engines all the time. Last time that will happen, take it the guys that have the training and expertise to diagnose and repair your problems.
