What's kinda odd is that Mick Cope, the guy that runs the swap meet for Scott didn't know anything about it.
I'm kinda curious about the whole deal with Josh.....

I can't see Scott giving up Monster Mopar (or selling the name).
He may simply be letting Josh use the name or getting a "cut" of the profits from Josh using it. More than likely Scott is trying to work out something that will work for now and in reality make putting on the event easier (local help in Indy). It will definitely make it easier for Scott to get an event started in Indy. Scott has tried to put on events in Indy, but without local support they lost money (and he doesn't put on Monster Mopar to benefit the public or just to be nice to the racers). Scott makes really good money on Monster Mopar, he's not gonna give up that much profit easily. Some people don't make in a year the money he make that weekend. There is a years worth of planning involved and putting out money up front to put it on, but you gotta spend money to make money. That's business.
Josh does say in the post on Moparts If Gateway reopens next year, we will move the event back. But we need everyones support until then.
Josh sent me a message saying "I leaked this a little premature on purpose, to help create a big buzz about it. I know Mick is waiting until it is officially official to say anything but I am in contact with both of them every day or so."
Like I said before, I find it odd that Mick was surprised about the thread on Moparts (if Josh had been talking to him.
Even if a track does become available this year for Monster Mopar to be held in Saint Louis, the Indy event is a completely different weekend than the traditional second weekend in September so really they wouldn't clash.
It's another Mopar event, go if you can afford it, have fun and enjoy yourself. ;D

Only way you can gaurantee that a Slowpar wins is to have a race for them only. I hear they are like old Harley's they just sit there bleeding oil everywhere even without the motor running...

i think its just a rumor that its really monster mopar at indy i know that scott didnt want nothing if he couldnt get a st louis track, as for rumors go, gir or mar ,, ?? keep waiting, if st clair co doesn't remove some of the tax assessed, that track wont open anytime soon, i believe there is a deal being done on the land but it is weighed heavily on getting that tax deal done, but everyone knows that so nothing new as for mar ? lose lips sinks ships..

as for monster mopar weekend , if this track mar can get up and going , because gateway may not happen, surley scott will bring back here where it belongs who knows maybe this will encourage indy to step up and see that mmw has been really great to us here in st,loiuis area and really get behind it , then when we do get the strip going here, it can come home and have a show there and here , i sure scott was thinking the same years ago, when noone there or chicago wouldnt support it but we wiill cross our fingers

After talking to some friends it sounds like Scott has actually sold Monster Mopar to Josh King. Scott it seems like has been avoiding answering phone calls for a while now. Randy Baker finally talked to him this last Sunday night and got out of him that he had sold Monster Mopar. Even though Josh has posted that it would be brought back to Saint Louis if Gateway reopened I don't know if that would happen if someone from Indy is now running the show.
