I can tell you personally that they talked to us that is the owner and general manager ,that they would like to get the asphalt done this fall , If not early spring .You could have good weather till Dec . Didn't they re-asphalt CID and started racing on it soon after ? I'm not going to post all that's been said so their no point in any more rumors unless some want to look more like a ass . With 2 tracks possibly get your junk ready .Game on .

well it would be nice to know if the swamp is going to open for weekly or a somewhat weekly bracket season in 2012, or if the non-keyboard racers are still going to have to travel to race next season,
is there going to be an announcement from the new owner/lessor about weekly drag racing in 2012 in the near future?

So many people starting rumors. It's become rediculous. You wouldn't beleive how people believe what spills out of some people's mouths.

Midnight Madness with the "Battle of the Boards" Really brought in some of the largest crowds I have seen at Gateway in years. Other than the NHRA events. The SCSS on tuesday nights also starting drawing quite a crowd in 2010. I mean seriously! Look at the stands in this Battle of the boards video. www.youtube.com/watch?v=GaNN5362Pos

stldr you would know more than most,, i believe this new owner will be pretty aggressive with a schedule ,, and with the facility that is there , he has to look at those events that bring the racer's back, get great payouts back , and an atmoshere that brings racers and spectators to the track

The reason you would want to put down the asphalt now is to give it time to cure and get a set before racing on it. Fresh asphalt will bring oils up to the surface until it's had time to cure and be rained on a few times. Look what happened up at Havana a couple of weeks ago with some fast cars.
